Maria Maraltadj is a young Kwini woman who finished high school at the Kalumburu Remote Community School in 2017. During her final school year she discovered photography and joined the Kalumburu Photography Collective as part of the Big Picture Education program. Maria is an active member of the Kalumburu Photography Collective capturing community and sports events as well as images of daily life in Kalumburu. Maria is passionate about photography and learning skills in small business. In 2018 she hopes to start a small business taking school portraits and images of families in Kalumburu. Maria also loves to document her family’s country at McGowan’s beach and experiments with capturing detail and texture in nature.
